Why it matters

See one another’s humanity. Honour what connects us.

Unity Week NZ is an award-winning series of events launched in 2022. It brings people together to reflect on the lessons of the 15 March mosque attacks—a tragedy that touched hearts in Aotearoa and around the world.

Its invitation is to make unity, compassion and respect part of everyday life, while recognising both the bonds we share and the differences that make us unique.

The values

Five ideas to carry with us.

The Unity Week NZ website describes these as the values at the heart of its events.
